reoccurring issue

i seem to have a reoccurring problem when planning: emergent theme vs emergent skill.  When i first started at the center, i was blown away by the creativity of creating amazing projects and activities that fit with the current topic of discussion.  Like making Dog Bingo for the BFIAR book "Angus Lost" When I stepped into PreK with another awesome co teacher, she helped me to understand the huge difference between emergent theme & emergent skill. The idea that each week we should be developing the emerging skills alongside of our topic is tricky.
