Assessment

We used a variety of tools for assessments at the center.  We used an online program that used general developmental milestones to show growth in areas.  We also used paper assessments like the one below.  This is the one from my 2 year old room.  Please note the most important stuff is on top.  At the center, we placed an emphasis on developing our bodies as well as our minds. In the land of 2's, the most important growth is in their large/fine motor skills. *Meets NAEYC standards

This information will help guide and develop the classroom curriculum.  The information allows teaching staff to modify teaching strategies or materials to enhance the child’s experience and ability to learn. This exercise allows us to celebrate the children’s achievements and individuality.  Each child is growing and most importantly, enjoying their time in the classroom.  To ensure the children’s enjoyment, if they were not interested in participating in a skill, we moved onto the next.  This guide is completed by observing the children, working individually and in small groups.
