Colors & a new game plan

This past week we talked about colors.  I also tried a different format style for organizing my lessons.  I am shocked to admit that our days fill up rather quickly with other stuff.  House work, outside play, library/park district classes & just hanging out...I needed a new outlook that would help me to get things accomplished during the week & not feel like everyday has to be hours of "schooling:  I am having a hard time transition from classroom teacher of many to mom teacher of one! I'm used to 3 ideas/projects filling hours!  Those same 3 projects may only take my son 10 minutes to complete...leaving me feeling like a failure for not filling the time with more stuff...but i know this is silly!!!
so new game plan:
break each day into a subject.  i hate prep- so at least if we are going to paint- it makes sense to put it all on one day (& only one day)
The items in the "I'm Bored" list won't change for a while.  For some reason, when boredom strikes my mind goes completely blank.
 Highlights from the week:
Field Trip- aquarium store- to observe & look at colorful fish & aquatic life
Mouse Paint by Ellen Walsh- one of my favorite books!!! The white mice step into primary colors & learn how to color mix.  We read this book outloud & recreate the mice with our fingers & tempera paint!! I used to love doing this activity for my 2 year olds!
Color Mixing rainbow water-Classic Favorite!
We also used small interlocking hearts from oriental trading to practice patterns and number correspondence.
