I thought I would post some of the stuff the Boy & I are working on during the day.

Early Childhood Education Background:
I spent 4 years in early childhood.  In that time I worked with infants, two year olds, three-five year old preschool & Pre-K.  At my center we created our own unique lessons plans each week based on what the children were interested in or talking about (emergent curriculum)   Our lesson plans included: art, math, science, reading, language, sensory, fine/large motor etc.  I had the privilege of working beside some AMAZING and creative women!  Our activities were based on physical & active learning, we were not allow to use worksheets/dittos.  Because of this we got creative with our teaching!

I am leaning on the Before Five in a Row program for our lessons...and my background.  We have an odd variety of supplies that maybe not everyone has access to in their home.   I stink at prep work- creating "lap books" were I have to cut, color & assemble doesn't work for me .

Weekly Prep:
Letter of the Week- confessions of a homeschooler
http://www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/letter-of-the-week
We love this website. * we do add our own twist- for some of the prep work activities- like A-Apple Tree- Cut out apples to glue onto tree and count  The Boy doesn't have the fine motor skills yet to do this activity...so instead of cutting apples- we will finger paint apples & then count. (or use pom poms/bingo chips/bingo dot markers etc)

Outside of the BFIAR & FIAR manuals,  I have narrowed down my weekly prep to 3 websites.
Homeschool Share   http://www.homeschoolshare.com/
Delightful Learning http://delightfullearning.blogspot.com/
Homeschool Creations  http://homeschoolcreations.blogspot.com/

Sensory Bin-more info at Counting Coconuts http://countingcoconuts.blogspot.com/search/label/Sensory%20Tubs

I will be mostly posting my "lesson plan/outline".  I want to keep my focus on the Boy during our activities :)
