So let's see several years have passed since i last posted.  In brief my kids are both in school full time now.  Last year, during their first year at school, i went back to work. I am now entering my 2nd year at a local park district.  It's an interesting turn of events as it merges my 2 worlds: park district & early childhood.
I am teaching 5-7 classes, depending on enrollment. On this blog I will be sharing my projects & sensory ideas.
Here are my classes:
A parent-toddler class: sensory is highlighted each week
a 2 year old transition class: a 12 week class where the parent is in the room for the first couple of weeks & then the children come alone
a mini transitional preschool class: 2-4 yr old 90 minute class (once a week) I have an AWESOME co-teacher for this class
an evening parent-toddler themed special event class: this is a 45 minute class around a theme.  1-2 craft projects, sensory table, an explore touch table (playdoh, flubber etc)

This is my first time incorporating Pinterest into my class planning.  The last time i was working, Pinterest didn't exist.  Here are my pin boards: http://www.pinterest.com/chitowntracy/

I am also beginning my 3rd year of Art & Music Appreciation. I will be highlighting projects here too

The chaos!!!  (this set up didn't last long, I ended up having a huge ocd induced hissy fit & moving all of it to the garage- out of sight, out of mind LOL)

Starting to look like a kitchen again

For Christmas, the kids were given a polymer kit.  We had so much fun observing the polymers as they grew over a 2 day period. Polymers aka water beads can also be found at Hobby Lobby and other craft stores.
We made The Boy's new preschool 2 I-Spy bottles.  This was really a fun activity.  Plus I have tons of tiny little oriental trading trinkets just sitting in the basement.  I didn't get a finished product picture, but here's what went in our bottles.  We cut these circles out & pasted colorful scrapbook paper to the back.
In case you have never seen an I-Spy bottle. Rainbow I Spy Bottles
